The general gist from the folks here on mob3 are that smartwatches are pretty pointless, and one of the points against these little devices are the lack of battery life. Most Android Wear watches last less than 2 days and Pebbles can last up to a week.

The Matrix PowerWatch hopes to change that, by charging itself via the temperature of your wrist. When the watch is off, the device "goes to sleep" to preserve battery life. The device seems to be following the trend of current smartwatches gearing at those using it for fitness for tracking steps, calories and time, and omits the notification bearing features of it's competition.

Currently the watch is a proof of concept expected to be shown at CES, and can be pre-ordered for $170, with shipping estimated at July 2017.
